What is the Connection Center?
The Connection Center
The MHS Connection Center serves to remove barriers
to learning and provide basic amenities and resources
to students so they can thrive. The MHS Connection
Center acts as a resource center to provide one-on-one
assistance and access to critical resources.
What Resources does the Connenction Center Provide?
The Wellness Room
The Wellness Room system is based on physiology and neuroscience. We model and teach students to recognize how their stress response system works. We teach coping skills to use to self-regulate and soothe their nervous system.
The Wellness Room provides students with a safe and supervised environment when they are experiencing feelings of distress. Students are able to use the room for 15 minutes. During that time they can use a variety of mindfulness tools to help self-regulate their emotions.
Food Pantry
The Connection Center provides snacks, lunch and take-home items to students in need. The Food Pantry has been made possible by many generous donations from the Kind Fund and local community members.
Basic Essentials
The Connection Center is also able to provide hygiene kits and basic essentials, such as clothes, coats, shoes, access to laundry and shower facilities through generous donations from the Kind Fund and community members.
Visit Braintreewellbeing.org for more detailed information.
Study Rooms
The Study Room is available for students who need a location to work on homework, telehealth
appointments, or to consult with our family advocate.
